English version below

I use AI as a tool for the final version, so I thought that telling the story behind this song—from the original ukulele version to the one released here—might show the many AI haters that for a lot of musicians, a song doesn’t simply come from a prompt.
I’d had this chord progression—Fadd9 / Am7 / BbMaj7 / Bb / C—running through my fingers for weeks without leading anywhere. In July 2020, in Sauvian, in the south of France where I was on vacation, I was strumming that progression absent‑mindedly as usual, and suddenly the melody for the verse finally appeared. Bright and obvious. Once I got going, I was able to follow through with the rest: a pre‑chorus, the chorus, the whole structure, without lyrics, as often—except for “Save me,” which helped anchor the melody.

I then found the text for the first verse: “I’m flying miles and miles above you…”, and that’s where I got stuck. The song didn’t move for years; I would play it from time to time for pleasure, but without any real intention of recording it.
Around 2025, I picked it up again, worked a bit on the arrangement, defined the structure and tempo, and tried to move forward with the lyrics. I eventually managed to fill in the missing parts.
By mid‑2026, it was time to bring this little gem to life. Pre‑production on Reaper as always, and the addition of a bridge at the last minute—I was afraid the song would be too simplistic without it, and I wasn’t comfortable with a solo. I recorded the vocals and fed the result into Suno. As usual, I simply used the prompt it generates by “listening” to the demo. Then I tried a bossa version, a version in the style of America—A Horse with No Name was the vibe I had in mind for the ukulele version. Eleven attempts in total before settling on the version presented here.
Since my distributor doesn’t accept AI‑produced tracks, this song won’t be available on streaming platforms. Of course, I could use another distributor for titles in this category, but I’m a loyal person—and anyway, Sucrepop on streaming platforms is peanuts. Only Lucy, Racquel and Me manages to stand out.
Enjoy listening.

I'm flying miles and miles above you
From April moon to December sun
I let the naughty south wind kiss you
the pink rain will soothe my wide burns

I know I shouldn't be afraid
That time will heal everything
But tell me where our memories go

Save me, save me baby
Save me from me
From the darkness that surrounds me
Save me
Save me, save me, save me baby
Save me from me
From the stillness that swallows me whole
Save me

I forgot all the chords I taught you
My songs are slowly fading away
Like the stars that lose their light at dawn
I reach for you but I'm afraid

In the silence, whispers crawl
Through the w inding roads of my mind,
Shadows dance, they know it all
ooo

Save me, save me baby
Save me from me
From the darkness that surrounds me
Save me
Save me, save me, save me baby
Save me from me
From the stillness that swallows me whole
Save me

With every heartbeat, I’ll find my way
To the places where we dared to play

Save me, save me baby
Save me from me
From the darkness that surrounds me
Save me, save me

Love you

Love you
My love for you, a strange art
The one who stole my weird heart

Love you
No matter how near or far
You're my favorite odd star

Love you
You're my favorite strange tune
You make my whole world brighter

Love you
You're the thorn I hold with care.
Love you like a whispered spell

Love you
I breathe you like morning air
Soft and constant, always there.
Love you

Satellite

fading out of sight, I’m falling
fading out of sight
colors drain into night,
my fast solar decline

Each day I lose you, I vanish
each day I lose you
time only widens the distance
two worlds out of view

I’m a satellite, oo oo
Out of your orbit lost in flight
I’m a satellite, oo oo
drifting where your love isn’t
And I regret, mmm
how I regret, mmm
oh I regret
Time moves on, the hurt won’t fade

No compass to guide, I’m slipping,
with no guide in sight
a captive of cosmic forces,
pulled with the tide

I enter an eternal winter,
frozen forever
how could I find warmth and shelter
in your pale moon’s silver?

I’m a satellite, oo oo
Out of your orbit lost in flight
I’m a satellite, oo oo
drifting where your love isn’t
And I regret, mmm
how I regret, mmm
oh I regret
Time moves on, the hurt won’t fade

How does a bright star die?
It burns through its own fire
One last signal, one last flame
last spark, last desire
then goodbye

fading out of sight, I’m falling
fading out of sight
colors drain into night,
my sad solar decline

Each day I lose you, I vanish
each day I lose you
time only widens the distance
two worlds out of view

I’m a satellite, oo oo
Out of your orbit lost in flight
I’m a satellite, oo oo
drifting where your love isn’t
And I regret, mmm
how I regret, mmm
oh I regret
Time moves on, the hurt won’t fade

Who will remember us?

What will be left of us?
Of our joys, of our pain
Just stories lost in dust
What will be left of us?
When the curtain falls on us

What will remain of us?
Of our words, of our deeds
Almost nothing much
A thousand aching dreams,
Soft bliss that slipped between

No yellowed photographs Sleeping in a drawer
All our fragile lives erased, remembered no more

What will be left of us?
Just shadows in the sun,
August light and broken trust
All the laughter, all the pain
they dissolve into rain

No yellowed photographs Sleeping in a drawer
All our fragile lives erased, remembered no more

All the sorrows, sweet delights,
Every kiss that we shared, every tear that we cried.
All these lives in a row
changes none yet Changes all

What will be left of us?
Tell me, who will remember us?

I will forget you

I don’t want to spend my days just counting left
Watch the sun go down from East to West.
I don’t wanna waste my nights on what we were,
I will forget you.

I don’t wanna say your name or curse the past,
Try to clear your ghost, erase it fast.
Every scent, every sigh is what I have left,
I will forget you.

Forget you
erase you
forget you
Undo you
outgrew you.

Reset all the clocks, the past locked away,
Old photographs fading, tucked away.
I’m fixing the pieces, I’m almost okay,
I will forget you.

I won’t call for help, no cries, no distress,
When love has passed, it leaves an emptiness.
I’ll walk from the ashes, I’ll say, I confess,
I once loved you.

Forget you (forget you)
erase you (erase you]
forget you
Undo you
outgrew you.

Forget you (forget you)
erase you (erase you]
forget you
Undo you
outgrew you.

I burned all your notes, no trace, no line,
Your voice on the phone still haunts my mind.
The bottle still spins, I drink to the crime,
Of forgetting you in time.

That Lennon song you played every day,
Your scent on your coat won’t fade away.
Those tiny ghosts still dance in my place
But I’ll forget your face.

Sorry

Sorry to love being loved more than love
Sorry For not always daring to dare
Sorry for the tears I made fall in vain
Without always stopping to wipe away the pain.

Sorry for my lies, and truths just the same
For every wound I caused, too tender to tame
For leaving too soon, or for staying too long,
Sorry to all I have failed to hold strong.

Sorry for success, and sorry for falls,
For things I’ve not tried though I’ve dreamed of them all.
Forgive my silences too easy, too bright
Forgive my absences, the void they left behind

I’m forgiven or not
In the end, I don’t care a lot
my time on earth was so beautiful
On the stone beneath my name
Let them carve this simple claim
my time on earth was so beautiful

Sorry for meetings I never made,
And all of the calls that I left delayed.
Sorry for being the shade of my dreams,
Too many, too vast for such brief human schemes

Sorry to those lost in veils of the past
To one-night loves, to pleasures shared so fast
I burned my time away to never see it flow.
I only thought of me, but who else would, you know?

I’m forgiven or not
In the end, I don’t care a lot
my time on earth was so beautiful
On the stone beneath my name
Let them carve this simple claim
my time on earth was so beautiful
